Univision Noticias launches Digital Special Projects Team.

Univision News announced that it has created a Digital Special Projects team to work on in-depth, innovative features focusing on topics of particular interest to the millions of U.S. Hispanics that visit Univision.com, UnivisionNoticias.com and its mobile apps daily. The inaugural project will debut with an interactive page devoted to the burning issue of comprehensive immigration reform and the future of the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act of 2013, approved by the U.S. Senate and currently in the House of Representatives.
“Immigration reform is one of the most crucial issues for Hispanics throughout the U.S., so it is fitting that we debut our new Digital Special Projects section with extensive coverage of that extremely relevant topic,” expressed Isaac Lee, president of News, Univision Communications Inc. “We have put an extraordinary team in place to devote their full attention to Digital Special Projects, as part of Univision News’ mission of informing and empowering the Hispanic community through diverse and innovative formats.”
Titled “Reforma Migratoria: ¿Sueño o Pesadilla?” (Immigration Reform: Dream or Nightmare?), the Digital Special Projects’ immigration page was designed specifically for this initial project and is accessible across devices through a mobile-optimized version. It covers every aspect of the immigration reform debate in a seven-part feature that incorporates various interactive media elements, including infographics, photos, and videos in both Spanish and English.
The new Digital Special Projects to be featured on Univision.com and UnivisionNoticias.com under the brand umbrella of “La Huella Digital” (The Digital Footprint) will present various feature reports throughout the year, leveraging the extensive resources of Univision News and the Univision Network and combining them with the most advanced information gathering and reporting technologies available today to provide users with a rich interactive experience across all digital platforms.
