ESPN Deportes receives four Sports Emmy Nominations

Second nomination for SportsCenter and Jose Ramon Fernandez; First nomination for Fuera de Juego and Ernesto Jerez
 
In the second year of Spanish-language Emmy Award categories, ESPN Deportes receives four Sports Emmy nominations: two in the Studio Show category and two in On-Air Personality. The announcement was made yesterday by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences; the winners will be announced Tuesday, May 5, in New York.
 
For the second consecutive year, ESPN Deportes garners four nominations:
 
Studio Show in Spanish         SportsCenter – The network’s flagship news and information studio show that won an Emmy last year in the same category, received its second nomination
 
Fuera de Juego – ESPN Deportes’ show dedicated to international soccer earned its first nomination.
 
On-Air Personality in Spanish Jose Ramon Fernandez <http://espnmediazone.com/us/bios/jose-ramon-fernandez/>  – The legendary Mexican sports journalist gained its second nomination.
 
Ernesto Jerez <http://espnmediazone.com/us/bios/jerez_ernesto/>  – Veteran play-by-play baseball commentator, widely known for his is signature home run call “¡no… nono, nono, no…! ¡Dígale que no a esa pelota!” joined the list with his first nomination.
 
In 2014, the first year of Spanish-language categories, ESPN Deportes won two Best Studio Show Sports Emmy Awards– SportsCenter and Nacion. The network also had a total of four nominations.
