The Hispanic Public Relations Association’s New York Chapter has announced the filing period for the 2nd Annual HPRA-NY Scholarship Program. Beginning March 31 through June 6, greater New York area college students of Hispanic descent will have the opportunity to file applications to be recognized for their outstanding undergraduate academic achievement and community service. Two undergraduate students will receive a scholarship and other valuable accolades.
“The HPRA-NY scholarship program is our most important undertaking,” said Andy Checo, president of HPRA-NY. “We are proud to once again not only be in a position to recognize the achievements of Latino youth and to financially support their goal to pursue a career in our industry, but also to increase the impact our program creates by making a second scholarship available.”
Launched last year, the HPRA-NY Scholarship was awarded to New York University’s Lia Martinez-Santamaria who received $2,000 to pursue her education goals.
The 2nd Annual HPRA-NY scholarship will be awarded to two qualified undergraduate students. Both recipients will receive a $2,000 scholarship. In addition, the winners will also receive complimentary student memberships to HPRA-NY for one calendar year and one-on-one mentorship from some of New York’s leading Hispanic communications and marketing professionals.
The application deadline is Friday, June 6, 2014. Call-for-entries is open immediately. In order to qualify, student applicants must:
