Telemundo announced partnership with National Hispanic Medical Association

NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises announced a year-long partnership with the National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA) to support continued COVID-19 vaccination efforts and advance health-related programs for the Hispanic community. Through this partnership and as the Spanish-language media partner for NHMA’s launch of its two new websites, HispanicHealth.info and VaccinateForAll.org, Telemundo will help increase access and awareness about the vaccination process and other health-related issues impacting the Latino community.

HispanicHealth.info provides extensive, accessible bilingual resources to members of the Hispanic community and those who serve their healthcare needs. Resources are thoroughly vetted by the NHMA to ensure that the information is accurate, reliable, and relevant to improving the health of the community.

“Through the HispanicHealth.info portal, and with the proud support from Telemundo, NHMA will decrease health disparities by providing bilingual health information from trustworthy sources for its networks of physicians, patients, and others in the Hispanic community to improve their health,” said NHMA President & CEO Elena V. In partnership with NHMA, Telemundo will reach, engage and inform Hispanic households year-round and leverage the network’s reach across the U.S. through:

  •     Virtual educational talks, including a “Charla” series about vaccine safety, accessibility, and other vaccine concerns, with subject matter experts available in English and Spanish.
  •     Bilingual phone banks with community partners to get real-time answers to pressing vaccine-related questions.
  •     Broadcast, digital and social media educational segments and campaigns about COVID-19.
  •     Content to inform and inspire the next generation of culturally competent multicultural healthcare professionals who understand the socioeconomic barriers and challenges facing Hispanic communities.

In addition to providing vital information and resources about the COVID-19 vaccine, this long-term partnership will raise awareness and discuss solutions to other key health areas that disproportionately impact U.S. Hispanics, such as hypertension, diabetes, asthma and the effects of the pandemic on mental health and stress related concerns.
