LIFEbeat, The Music Industry Fights AIDS, The Winter Music Conference and Def Mix and join forces for a party/fundraiser at South Beach hot spot Salvation, March 25, from 10PM – 5AM in honor of the 2001 Winter Music Conference.

Def Mix, one of the world’s most successful dance music production companies, owned by David Morales and Judy Weinstein, will provide the following talent for the event: Grammy winner: David Morales, Grammy winner: Frankie Knuckles, Satoshi Tomiie, Lord G, Bobby D’Ambrosio, Hector Romero and Jeffrey Allen.

LIFEbeat is a non-profit organization dedicated to reaching America’s youth with the message of HIV/AIDS prevention. LIFEbeat mobilizes the talents and resources of the music industry to raise awareness and funds, and to provide support to the AIDS community.

The Winter Music Conference is globally renowned for attracting producers, record company executives, radio personalities, celebrities and DJ’s from around the world. Over 20,000 people attend the conference, representing more than 51 countries.

DefMix

David Morales was nominated in 1996 for a Grammy Award for his production on Mariah Carey’s “Fantasy”. David and Mariah continued to collaborate which contributed to his second Grammy nomination in 1997 for “Best Remixer”, a new Grammy category. In 1998 David Morales finally received his much-deserved Grammy Award for “Remixer of The Year”. His production skills have kept him in great demand with top recording artists such as Mariah Carey, Backstreet Boys, Enrique Iglesias, Eric Clapton, Seal, Michael Jackson. David also spins weekly on his own mix show with New York’s #1 Dance Radio Station WKTU, called “Morales At Midnight”. He has also guest DJ’ed for MTV in the US and Europe.

Frankie Knuckles production and mixing career was officially recognized by the music industry when in 1997, he became the first recipient of a Grammy for “Remixer Category” by the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences. Frankie has produced and remixed songs for artists such as Diana Ross, Luther Vandross, Michael Bolton, Mary J. Blige, Sounds of Blackness, and Toni Braxton. Frankie’s nickname is “The Godfather of House”. He has played a pivotal role in the creation and evolution of “house” music, which has become the dominant staple of dance clubs throughout the world.

Satoshi Tomiie is quite simply, Japan’s most successful International DJ and Dance producer. He has remixed and worked with the likes of Simply Red, David Bowie, U2, Mariah Carey, Misia (Japan’s #1 R&B artist), just to name a few. In 2000 Satoshi wrote and produced his debut album for Sony entitled “Full Lick”. The album has been met with critical acclaim by his fans and the press with each single enjoying top ten chart success.

Lord G recently cut his remixing teeth with a Latin styled house anthem entitled, “Cada Vez” by Negrocans. He also put out his first live compilation on Night Groove records in America. Lord G is currently putting the finishing touches on his Latin Party Compilation due out this summer on Definity records. He also has a mix show for New York City’s WKTU once a month on Saturday night. As one of the Def Mix crew Lord G has weekly residency at Pacha in Ibiza Spain.

Bobby D has worked work with artists such as Joe, Tevin Campbell, K7, K.D. Lang, Gloria Estefan, Tom Jones, Barry White and the Waterlillys. “I Like It Like That” by the Blackout Allstars, found itself as one of Burger King’s most memorable commercials of the 90’s. Bobby travels across the globe, packing dance floors as one of the Def Mix Crew.
