Mia Films On A Roll.

Since the year 2001 started international production network Mia Films/The Mia Network has shot 17 projects. Mia Films Miami filmed two spots for Bellsouth Yellow Pages, a client of Miami based agency IAC Advertising. Both commercials where directed by Spanish director Eduardo Vázquez in February. After this, the same production office shot in Miami a detergent Neutrex’s spot from BBDO Barcelona, Spain, that was directed by Ricardo Albiñana, another Spanish director represented in by Mia Films in the United States and Latin America. These three projects had Denise Lunsford as executive producer.

Starting March, Mia Films Miami began the production in Brazil of two spots for McCann-Erickson Latin America/Caribbean-Miami and its client Nextel with Omnicom’s local production service in Sao Paulo. Italian director Paolo Calcagni was the director of these pieces that will air soon in the whole region. Likewise, Mia Films Miami was in charge of shooting “Dolphin” for spring water Vöslauer of Austrian agency Demner, Merlicek & Bergmann, with champion swimmer Franzeca VonAlmisk, and directed by the Spanish José Manuel Ferrater, another Mia Films’ director from Europe. Executive production for both projects was in the hands of Debrah Resto.

Meanwhile, Mia Films Costa Rica was producing “Death Penalty”, for Amnesty International, client handled by Saatchi & Saatchi Milan, and directed by young Italian director Agostino Toscana. Then, this Central American division started shooting a campaign for Casino cigarettes (British American Tobacco) by request of its agency in Costa Rica Jotabequ/Grey. The two spots will air in Guatemala and where shot under known Italian photographer and director Luca Babini’s direction. Marisol Soto and Mauricio Gamboa were the executive producers.

On the other hand, Mia Films Mexico, headed by executive producer Flor Vega filmed “Fall” for McCann-Erickson Mexico’s Barritas Marinela with English director Roger Alexander, and shot Sol bear campaign, another McCann client, this time with Spanish director Ricardo Albiñana Jr.

Mia Films Mexico also shot two video clips for the Irish band The Corrs: one version in English titled “One Night” and another in Spanish (“Una Noche”) with Spanish singer Alejandro Sanz’s participation. Nick Wickham directed both pieces.

Again, this Mexican division traveled to Spain to shoot two commercials for agency Contraste Publicitario’s client Suandy, directed and photographed by Michel Malka.

In South America, Mia Films Buenos Aires, commanded by executive producer Aníbal Tuzzi, produced in April one spot for Radio Mitre created by Buenos Aires agency Ratto/BBDO, and directed by local director Marcelo Rembado. It also shot one commercial for Manual de Cocina Italiana de Clarín, a Marcet & Asociados’s client, directed by Rembado too. Meanwhile Mia Films Buenos Aires was getting ready to film one spot for Ferrero Rocher (Tic Tac), another client of the same agency, but this time with Rodolfo Pagliere in the direction.
