Coors Brewing Company/Comunicad honored with International Award for Coors’ Lideres Program.

Coors Brewing Company and Comunicad were recently recognized by the League of American Communications Professionals (LACP) for the development and implementation of the Coors Lideres program. Coors and Comunicad, a multicultural marketing company, received three of LACP’s highest awards – a Platinum Award for overall programs; a Platinum Award for “Best on Limited Budget”; and ranked third in LACP’s Top 50 Publicity Campaigns of 2007.

“Coors is honored to receive this recognition, but more so, we are proud to bring visibility to Hispanic leaders who have made a difference in their community — reminding us all that we can do the same,” said Mauricio Cardenas, Coors Chief Officer, Latin America and U.S. Multicultural Marketing. The 2007 Magellan Awards received more than 450 international entries.

Rafael Fantauzzi, Coors Hispanic Corporate Relations director, said the Coors Lideres Campaign was launched in June 2006 with the Coors Lideres Print Advertising Campaign, a 12-ad print series published nationally to highlight key Hispanic leaders who advance the community in several professional areas. The second phase consisted of the Coors Lideres Training Workshop Program, a unique leadership development program based on a personalized assessment tool developed by The Gallup Organization that was offered in five key market cities and trained approximately 500 individuals. In conjunction with Coors, Comunicad assisted in the overall program planning and coordination for the Training Workshop Program, as well as provided media outreach.

“It is an honor to have received these awards on behalf of the Coors Lideres Campaign. This program exemplifies Comunicad’s belief that corporations can be successful in bringing relevant experiences that impact the Latino community at-large. The LACP distinction reinforces this belief,” said Gloria Rodriguez, President and CEO, Comunicad.
