Maria Elena Salinas Named Emory University Distinguished International Scholar.

Maria Elena Salinas, has been named a Distinguished International Scholar by the Goizueta Business School at Emory University in Atlanta in recognition of more than 20 years of journalistic excellence. She was also honored simultaneously as a Dean’s Speaker, the business school’s most prestigious speaking engagement, joining other luminaries of business, media and community service including Doug Daft, CEO of Coca-Cola, Warren Buffett, CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, John Connors, CFO of Microsoft, Leonard Lauder, Chairman and CEO of The Estee Lauder Company, Jimmy Carter, former US President and Emory Faculty member, Bob Friedman, President of Interactive Global Marketing for AOL/Time Warner, Andrew Young, Jeff Gardner of the Motley Fools, and Steve Sabol, President of NFL Films. She is the first female and first Hispanic to receive the university distinctions.
