Zubizarreta to be honored at the Hispanic Marketing Midwest Conference.

Joe Zubizarreta, Chief Operating Officer of the Hispanic agency Zubi Advertising, will be honored at The 12th Annual Hispanic Marketing Midwest Conference with the “Hispanic Marketing Achievement Award” on April 30, in Saint Paul, Minn. He was chosen for this distinguished award for his leadership role in the development of the Hispanic Marketing industry, his business achievement in managing and growing the agency, and his numerous contributions to the Hispanic community.

Zubi Advertising, founded by Zubizarreta’s mother Tere Zubizarreta, is one of the largest independent Hispanic advertising agencies in the U.S. and has long been known as a pioneer in the Hispanic marketing industry. Under his leadership, the company has built a strong team of collaborators who provide innovative, cutting-edge solutions to their clients’ Hispanic marketing needs.

Zubizarreta, who was recently featured in Latino Leaders magazine “Top 25 in Latino Advertising,” involves each member of the team in every aspect of clients’ businesses to create an integrated team approach that continually exceeds client expectations.

“I am humbled to receive this award, which I share with the entire staff at Zubi, their passion and dedication drives our work,” Zubizarreta said.

Zubizarreta, along with his sister and agency Chief Administrative Office, Michelle Zubizarreta, strives to set an example for giving back to the community. As a longstanding member of numerous non-profit organizations, such as the United Way of Miami-Dade and the Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies, the agency strongly encourages charitable giving among its staff. In 2007, for instance, the company launched a week-long, agency-wide campaign that raised more than $50,000 for the United Way.

The 4th annual Hispanic Marketing Midwest Awards Luncheon, which will present this year’s Hispanic Marketing Achievement Award, brings recognition to companies in the Midwest that actively promote and market to the Hispanic community and to individuals who have shown outstanding leadership in the Hispanic marketing industry. Past recipients of this award include Hector Orci, Alex Lopez Negrete and Daisy Exposito.

The 12th annual Hispanic Marketing Midwest Conference, produced by Aguilar Productions and held at Saint Paul RiverCentre, is attended by a who’s who of Hispanic marketing industry leaders and will feature presentations by top Hispanic marketing experts focused on consumer trends and the latest techniques for reaching this fast-growing market sector.

“We are honored to have Joe Zubizarreta here to address our conference attendees,” says Richard Aguilar, president of Aguilar Productions and conference organizer. “He is a larger-than-life figure in this influential industry who can teach our members a great deal about how to market to Hispanics and lead a thriving, 100% Latino-owned, independent agency in a competitive business environment.”

Zubizarreta will be honored at a meeting and reception by Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty at the State Capitol, and will receive a “Certificate of Commendation” from the Mayor of Saint Paul, the Honorable Chris Coleman, on April 29.

“This recognition is a great honor,” Zubizarreta said. “I dedicate this award to my mom who built Zubi Advertising through her commitment to excellence and devotion to the industry and to all Hispanic communities.”
