Zoom Media Group (ZMG) announced that Fernan Martinez would become President of LOFT and a partner of ZMG effective immediately. Martinez will work with ZMG Chairman and Editor in Chief Isaac Lee in the editorial development of LOFT and will continue the operations of his successful talent management company Fernan Martinez Communications. “Fernan is a
good friend, an inextinguishable source of ideas and creatively prolific. He is the best man for the job,” noted Lee.

Mr. Martinez is considered by many to be one of the original players responsible for the crossover of Latino music and cultural offerings into the mainstream of the US media business. Martinez has been the single most influential figure in helping several Latino cultural icons on their rise to the top. His client list has included: Juanes (3 Grammys), Enrique Iglesias (2 Grammys) and Julio Iglesias (one Grammy). “Fernan is, without a doubt, one of the smartest and most creative and visionary people in the business,” commented Dick Alan, senior Vice-president of William Morris Agency.

Before working as worldwide publicist for Julio Iglesias, Martinez (48) was a very prominent journalist working for the most influential newspaper of Colombia, “EL TIEMPO.” Soon after, Martinez was hired as General Producer for “El Show de Cristina” with Univision Networks. There he was a key person in the success of the show where he won 4 Emmy awards. Martinez also worked as a News Director for “TV Hoy” and has been contributing with different publications in the United States and Latin America, making him one of the most knowledgeable people in the Latin and US Hispanic markets.
