Latin Trade Magazine acquired.

Manhattan Media announced the completion of its acquisition of the assets of Latin America Media Management LLC. Assets purchased include the flagships Latin Trade magazine and the BRAVO Business Awards.

“Latin Trade has a terrific history and high reputation for editorial integrity,” said Richard Burns, chairman of Manhattan Media. “We will work with the best of the old company’s staff, talk closely with our readers and advertisers, and invest heavily to support our plans for expansion. The economies of Latin America have performed well in the past few years and, despite the region’s traditional volatility, we are bullish on the long-term prospects for the region and those doing business in it.”

Concurrent with this acquisition, Manhattan Media also announced the formation of a subsidiary company, Miami Media, to manage and build this and other businesses focused on Latin America, the Caribbean and South Florida. Rosemary Winters and Maria Lourdes Gallo, two highly experienced and successful executives, have been appointed co-General Managers of Miami Media.

“We couldn’t be more excited about Miami Media’s prospects,” said Winters. “We hope this will be the first of many announcements about our investments and acquisitions in the South Florida and Latin markets.” Added Gallo: “We are now hiring and hope to attract the kind of talent that will help us make Miami Media a trusted and powerful force.”
