ORIXA Rocks NYC.

It was a great moment for the bay area Rockeros ORIXA who rocked and kicked off their East Coast Tour at the Mercury Lounge in NYC . The event was the CD release party for Ark 21’s ESCENA ALTERLATINA CD which features Julieta Venegas, ORIXA,Volumen Cero,Bayu among others.

The evening started with New York based La Ruta, following Miami’s Volumen Cero who is currently on tour with Orixa. As LA Ruta and Volumen Cero warmed up the crowd the unexpected happened right after their sets,Orixa goes on stage before Julieta Venegas and delivered a high energy body sweating, eardrum popping performance! The response was so overwhelming that the band, as well as, the new fans were cheering and”High Fiving” each other.People were getting on and jumping off stage, waving arms, shouting and singing, it was a night of celebration since this was Orixa’s very first show in NYC. New York embraced Orixa and wants them back!

Orixa is currently on tour promoting their album 2012e.d which has been nominated for a California Music Award for Outstanding Latin Abum. Orixa will be playing two more NY dates, Washington DC, MIami, Atlanta then back to the Bay Area for local dates.
