Hoy, Newsday & The WB11 Named Official Media Partners For New York Hispanic Day Parade.

Hoy, Newsday and the WB11 (WPIX-TV) have been named official media partners of the New York Hispanic Day Parade.

The cross-media collaboration marks the first time the three Tribune Company properties have worked together on a Hispanic event in the New York metropolitan area.

Hoy was been named the official Spanish-language newspaper and Newsday the official English-language newspaper of the parade, which will be held on Sunday, October 13, along Fifth Avenue from 44th Street to 72nd Street in Manhattan. The WB11 was named the official television station for the parade and will air live coverage of the event. WB11 News at Ten anchor Jim Watkins and reporter Lolita Lopez and WB11 Morning News Show reporters Matt Garcia and Marysol Castro will host the parade.

The parade will transform Fifth Avenue with floats, native costumes and the music and dance of Hispanic groups representing Spain, South America, Central America and the Caribbean. Hoy and Newsday will sponsor a float and will share the main stage with the New York Hispanic Day Parade Committee.

This is the second major parade in the Hispanic community this year for which the two newspapers were named official print media sponsors. Earlier this year, Hoy and Newsday were the official Spanish and English language newspapers of the Nation Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York.
