The New Year @ Miami.

The 2003 New Years celebration in South Florida will be unlike anything that has taken place in the past decades. The City of Miami government has decided to substitute the concept of the traditional parade for the production of a mega concert event that includes a great wealth of music, food, fireworks, and revelry in the streets.

All the preparations are currently underway for the Miami New Years Mega Concert, a tremendous fiesta that will take place along the bay of the City of Miami with performances by various artists from different musical genres showcasing the cultural diversity of the metropolis.

Miami New Years Mega Concert will take place December 31st, 2002 @ 11am and will extend past the midnight hour. The event will stretch across Biscayne Blvd. and will extend northbound for a total of six blocks in length. Rock, Country, Salsa, Merengue, Gospel, Tango, Rap, and Classical will be some of the many rhythms the great family of Miami will be able to enjoy.

Miami New Years Mega Concert, in its debut, will replace the traditional Orange Bowl Parade, an event that had captured national interest with its colorful floats and renowned school marching bands over the past 6 decades.

“We are very excited with the production of this mega event because it will be a celebration full of variety that all families will be able to enjoy. Due to the magnitude and importance of Miami New Years Mega Concert, we will have extensive national and international press coverage of the event as well.”- Manny Mora CEO of 8pm Entertainment Consultants Corp., the organization in charge of the production.

The City of Miami possesses a rich cultural diversity with amicable and merry inhabitants, making them the perfect hosts for those who wish to spend New Years in the tropical setting of South Florida.

This year, modern illuminated buildings, large screens in the streets, a bay full of watercrafts and a giant stage with performances by various musical celebrities, will undoubtedly attract one of the largest crowds ever seen.
