Spanish Broadcasting System All-Star Benefit Concert @ Madison Square Garden.

Spanish Broadcasting System, Inc. announced that it is organizing a benefit concert, featuring the top names in the Latin music industry, to take place on Sunday, December 9th, at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

All net proceeds from tickets sales of the event will be donated to the United Way of New York City’s September 11th Fund as well as the Hispanic Federation Fund earmarked to help the families of those that perished in the recent airline disaster involving Flight 587 bound for the Dominican Republic from New York City.

Raul Alarcon, Chairman and CEO of SBS and Executive Producer of the concert commented, “I am honored to be part of this historic undertaking involving the biggest talent in Latin music. My most sincere thanks and appreciation go to the many artists who are giving of their time and talent so generously for such a worthwhile cause.”

Additionally, many of those who lost their lives on Flight 587 were Dominicans, a particularly strong and loyal listener segment of both SBS radio outlets in New York City.

“This is a significant showing of Hispanic solidarity and generosity in signaling our support for the victims of these terrible tragedies”, added Mr. Alarcon. “We want to give something back to New York, a city that has played a seminal role in the history of U.S. Hispanics and of our Company.”

The “Hispanos Unidos Por New York” (“Hispanics United for New York”) benefit concert will take place on Sunday, December 9th in the large arena at Madison Square Garden.
