Telemundo / KVEA-TV In LA Celebrates Mexican Independence Day @ Placita Olvera.

On September 14 through 16, 2001 KVEA-TV, will welcome over 100,000 visitors to Fiestas 16 the largest three-day event celebration in Los Angeles County at the Plaza Olvera in Downtown L.A.

Fiestas 16 celebrates a historical victory known as El Grito * Mexico’s declaration to revolt against three centuries of Spanish rule on Sept. 15, 1810, with over 100 HOURS OF FREE LIVE ENTERTAINMENT! Some of the featured artists include: Sparx, Control, Grupo Modelo, Originales de San Juan, Los Torneros del Norte, Rogelio Martinez, y muchos mas!

The event provides children and families with a culturally exhilarating experience. Fiestas 16 offers traditional music, cuisine, and dance; an interactive children’s play area; and a powerful entertainment line-up that lasts from 10AM to 10PM daily.

Throughout the day, Fiestas 16 showcases all the riches of the Mexican culture with non-stop specialty talent, folkloricos, mariachis, cultural exhibits, crafts, food, and performers.

Now in its 3rd year, KVEA-TV supports Fiestas 16 for its unique relationship with the Latino community as a vehicle to promote wide-spread pride of heritage within a historically renown venue that welcomes and receives millions of visitors year round.
