HBC Restructures Management.

Mark Masepohl, General Manager of the Houston market, will have regional responsibility for all Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation (“HBC”) radio operations in the state of Texas. HBC currently operates Spanish-language radio stations in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, McAllen/Harlingen/Brownsville and El Paso. Peter Moore, General Manager for San Diego, will have regional responsibility for HBC operations in Phoenix, and Ali Shepherd, General Manager for San Francisco, will have regional responsibility for Las Vegas.

Gary Stone, Chief Operating Officer of HBC, commented, “As a direct result of unifying our strong market clusters in key Texas cities, Mark Masepohl will be responsible for creating new revenue, event and programming platforms.” Mr. Stone further commented, “Under Ali Shepherd and Peter Moore’s leadership, HBC will be in a better position to effectively manage growth in important markets located in the western United States.”

Separately, HBC is announcing that Frank Carter, formerly general sales manager in Dallas, has been named general manager for the Dallas market. HBC’s radio station line-up in Dallas consists of KESS(AM), KHCK(FM), and KLNO(FM). Mr. Carter will be responsible for all aspects of the Dallas station operations, including sales, programming, promotions and marketing.

Mr. Stone, commenting on the appointment of Mr. Carter, said, “Frank is a solid and very capable manager. With his experience and demeanor, he will provide the leadership that will allow our Dallas stations to progress, particularly in light of the 2000 census figures, which are significantly impacting the Dallas market for Hispanics.”
