Wireless Revenues At Nearly $42B Annually By 2005.

Worldwide service revenues for fixed wireless will be worth over $41 billion in five years time, according to a new report by ARC Group. Its strategic worldwide market analysis provides a thorough country-by-country assessment of spectrum allocations and market projections. Entitled “Broadband Access: Opportunities In Fixed Wireless,” the book was authored by Technology Analyst Tony Crabtree.

This new research reveals that over a quarter of business premises will be connected via fixed wireless by 2005, with actual deployments to both households and businesses reaching over 27 million. More than half of these deployments will occur in the two leading markets of North America and Western Europe. ARC Group forecasts that the fixed wireless access market will rapidly expand across almost all regions of the world, moving from a largely US / Western European centric industry to a more widely balanced world industry. The pioneering US market is forecast to become highly competitive throughout the period due to intense competition from alternative technologies and operators.
