Forecast: Winter Audience Accumulations At or Near Record Levels @ Channel 47 In NYC!

The ratings are rising as fast and as often as the snow is falling at WNJU-TV Channel 47, Telemundo’s New York O&O. WNJU-TV has had a blizzard of audience increases across all dayparts and demographics, with the most significant accumulations occurring during primetime and early fringe.

According to recently issued January 2001Nielsen NSI figures for the Monday-Friday, 7-11PM time slot, WNJU-TV registered a 362% increase in Women 18-34, a 471% increase in Persons 18-34, a 296% increase in Women 18-49, and a 228% increase in Women 25-54, compared with year-ago figures. Telemundo’s “Betty La Fea” is the top Spanish language program in the 8PM timeslot among nearly all adult demographics. Among Women 18-34, “Betty La Fea” outranks general market programs such as “Buffy,” “Who Wants to be a Millionaire,” and “Third Rock from the Sun,” among others.

The early fringe time slot is no less spectacular, where talk show “Laura en America” ranks #2 among all programs at 4PM, second only to Oprah among women 18-34 and women 18-49. In fact, “Laura” pulls in more Men 18-34, Men 18-49, and Persons 18-34 than any other program in the time slot.

A preliminary look at the results for the soon-to-conclude February sweeps period shows a continuation of these growth trends at WNJU-TV.
