Manuel Martinez – Executive VP Of Programming & Production @ Telemundo Network.

Telemundo Communications Group, Inc. promoted Manuel Martínez-Llorián to the position of Executive Vice President of Programming and Production, announced James McNamara, President and CEO for Telemundo. In this capacity, Martínez-Llorián will continue to be responsible for the direction of all programming and promotional strategies for the Spanish-language network.

“Manuel has spearheaded a dynamic team that has been instrumental in raising Telemundo’s ratings and audience share,” said McNamara. “He is an industry leader of the highest caliber, whose unique blend of vision, expertise, and innovative ideas, continue to propel the network upwards in our competitive market.”

Martínez-Llorián joined Telemundo’s programming department as Vice President of Programming in 1997. During the four years that he oversaw the department, he was responsible for restructuring the network’s weekday and weekend primetime schedules as well as introducing new formats that have been successful. His efforts as head of programming have been instrumental in positioning Telemundo as the fresh new alternative to Spanish-language programming.

Prior to joining the Telemundo programming team Martínez-Llorián held the position of Senior Vice President and General Manager of Channel 47, WNJU-TV, Telemundo’s owned and operated station serving the New York and New Jersey areas. Under his leadership, WNJU Channel 47 won its first Emmy, and launched the award winning late news ‘Noticiero 47,” in addition to the local entertainment program “Sábado 47.”
