Stuart Walker – VP Sales Development & Marketing @ Univision.

Univision Communications Inc. announced the appointment of Stuart H. Walker to the position of Vice President, Sales Development and Marketing, effective immediately. He will be responsible for overseeing new business sales efforts for Univision. Walker will report to Bennett Fogel, Executive Vice President, Network Sales and Marketing, and will be based in Chicago.

“We are very pleased to have such a knowledgeable and talented executive join the Company,” said Fogel. “Stuart’s impressive broadcast experience, industry contacts and track-record make him a tremendous asset and we are confident that he will quickly become a valuable part of the Univision team.”

Most recently, Walker was Vice President, Midwest Region at Columbia Tristar Television’s Chicago office, where he was responsible for managing the distribution of all off-network and first run programming to 54 Midwest markets. Walker also negotiated the successful distribution of Columbia Tristar’s products to a wide range of both station and major broadcast groups and contributed to the development, coordination and implementation of marketing and distribution plans for off-network and first run products. In addition, he contributed to two highly successful cycles of “Seinfeld” in distribution, ultimately helping the sitcom become the highest grossing network sitcom in syndication history.

Previously, Walker held various positions at Columbia Tristar. From July 1991 to July 1995, Walker served as Division Manager, responsible for distributing products in 26 of the region’s 56 markets; syndicating the first off-Fox sitcom, “Married with Children,” to over 95% of the assigned territory; and contributing to the launch and successful distribution of the ground breaking talk show “Ricki Lake.” From July 1988 to July 1991, Walker was an Account Executive, responsible for the distribution of products in 40 of the region’s 56 markets. As an Account Executive, he also contributed to the highly successful syndication of “Who’s the Boss,” which has become the fourth all time grossing sitcom in the history of syndication. Prior to Columbia Tristar, Walker was an Account Executive at Petry Television, where he served as the National Spot Sales representative for 26 television stations, including independents and affiliates.
