UVideos announces new digital-first programming

UVideos, the bilingual digital video destination for Univision Communications, Inc. (UCI) announced an expansion of its content offerings  as well as providing digital-only extensions of some of Univision Network’s top shows.  Complicated work situations, hilarious off-camera antics from morning show stars, up-and-coming Latin music superstars, competitive beauty queens and unforgettable characters from the Mexican Revolution await digital viewers.

Leading the new Digital line-up, UVideos will present in October “Despierta América – El Reality,” a new reality show centered on the Univision Network’s top-rated morning program. UVideos’ cameras will follow the “Despierta América” hosts and producers to give fans an exclusive inside look at what goes on during the grueling process of putting together a daily, 4-hour live morning show. From the long working hours that begin with getting up in the middle of the night, to the successes, challenges and personal ups and downs of Hispanic America’s favorite morning TV family, viewers will share in every unscripted, behind- the-scenes moment.
 
On August 25th, UVideos premiered the new digital program: “Más Allá de la Belleza” (Beyond Beauty).   Based on one of the world’s most glamorous and competitive beauty pageants, Miss Venezuela, (a powerhouse “beauty queen factory” that has produced seven Miss Universes and six Miss Worlds), “Más Allá de la Belleza” will follow every step taken by the Miss Venezuela contestants as they undergo rigorous training while facing fierce rivalry and higher than usual expectations, on the road to competing for the coveted crown.
 
Beginning on September 8th, in coordination with Hispanic Heritage Month, UVideos will present two epic series: “El Encanto del Águila” (The Eagle’s Spell) and “Gritos de Muerte y Libertad” (Cries of Death and Liberty). Featuring breathtaking cinematography and A-list casts, both scripted series highlight pivotal moments and characters in the Mexican Revolution.  They take viewers on a fascinating historical journey through Mexico’s fight for independence and display the human side of Mexico’s most revered heroes, including Porfirio Díaz, Francisco I. Madero, Francisco Villa and Emiliano Zapata.
 
Lastly, kicking-off in October is “Durmiendo Con Mi Jefe”, (Sleeping with my Boss), an UVideos U.S. exclusive series starring famed Mexican comedic actor Jorge Ortiz de Pinedo. The short series presents a nonstop whirlwind of hilarious situations unfolding when circumstances force Gael Urrutia (Ortiz de Pinedo) to move in with one of his employees (Raúl Araiza.)  This series, produced by Televisa, promises to keep audiences laughing out loud through the show’s 18 side-splitting episodes.
