Impact Study 2011

Tangerine Watson Inc. has revealed the inaugural rankings of Best Agencies by multicultural professionals, findings were derived from the Impact Study 2011. As the first industry-wide research study of perceptions and perspectives of multicultural advertising professionals in contrast with white advertising professionals, the Impact Study offers an objective baseline to build upon current initiatives moving forward and tangible employee values for each agency to establish their own competitive edge in the market. Ogilvy & Mather and Wieden + Kennedy consistently garnered top spots in the leading categories according to the survey respondents. Top categories rated by multicultural professionals included “Best Agencies for Career Advancement”, “Best Corporate Culture”, “Best Agencies with Senior Management Committed to Diversity”, “Most Attractive Agencies” and “Best Agencies for Creating Content for Diverse Audiences.”

Ogilvy & Mather received the highest rating in the “Best Agencies for Career Advancement”, Wieden + Kennedy was rated first in the “Best Agencies with Senior Management Committed to Diversity”, “Most Attractive Agencies”, “Best Agencies at Creating Content for Diverse Audiences”. Other agencies that received high ratings are Global Hue, BBDO, TBWA\Chiat\Day, Digitas, Draft FCB, McCann Erickson, Saatchi & Saatchi and Burell Communications.

Respondent outreach efforts included a variety of organizations, publications and initiatives including: AdAge, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, AAF, AHAA, AdClub, AdColor, 4A’s MAIP Alumni MMR, Marcus Graham, Tangerine Watson, Inc. multicultural candidate database and various advertising industry conferences, newsletters and events. Respondent answers were collected from September 13, 2011 through December 31, 2011. The research spans all national regions, agency sizes, job functions, seniority levels, as well as both general market and multicultural agencies. Over 800 respondents surveyed ranked agencies that were excelling in identifying, promoting and supporting diverse talent.
