Walt Disney Launches Spanish Language Audio Books.

In the label’s continuing efforts to reach an increasingly diverse audience, Walt Disney Records, the worldwide leader in children’s audio entertainment, announced that they are releasing two of their best-selling children’s titles in Spanish for the very first time.

The first album, “Favoritas de las Princesas de Disney,” spotlights Disney’s most beloved heroines with Spanish versions of classic songs from magical films such as “Beauty and the Beast,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Pocahontas,” “The Lion King” and many more. This enchanting collection features several highlights, including “Un Mundo Ideal” (“A Whole New World” from “Aladdin”), “La Bella” (“Belle” from “Beauty and the Beast”) and “Esta Noche Es Para Amar” (“Can You Feel The Love Tonight” from “The Lion King”). The English version of the “Princess” audio line has become one of Walt Disney Records’ hottest titles, with volumes 1 & 2 selling over a million copies combined.

The second release, “Disney Presenta Cantar y Jugar,” is a celebration of children’s favorite playtime songs from Latin America. This delightful compilation features a variety of song styles with folkloric instrumentation and danceable rhythms, including everything from mariachi and merengue to cumbia and vallenato. Highlights include “Las Mananitas,” “Arroz Con Leche,” “Que Llueva,” “Los Elefantes” and “Pin Pon.” Inspired by the English “Children’s Favorites” series, which has sold over 4.5 million copies to date, “Disney Presenta Cantar y Jugar” will provide hours of fun, dancing and singing entertainment for families and children of all ages.

“Though we’ve already established a presence in the Hispanic community with Spanish language soundtracks and Read-Alongs, this is an exciting new step for Walt Disney Records,” says Luigi-Theo Calabrese, President Walt Disney Records Worldwide and Disney Music Publishing. “We’re thrilled to offer Hispanic parents and children the opportunity to experience the magic of Disney in their native language.”

Both “Favoritas de las Princesas de Disney” and “Disney Presenta Cantar y Jugar” will be released on February 11, 2003.
