McDonald’s & Sofia Vergara.

McDonald’s showcases its newest Spanish and English-language ad featuring talented actress and model Sofia Vergara. This latest ad supports the recently introduced special value offer of an everyday, $1 price for the Big N’ Tasty or McChicken sandwich. The campaign also includes a spot featuring renowned businessman,Donald Trump and will unveil other famous faces in the weeks to come.

“We are kicking off our Hispanic-themed spot on Monday Night Football tonight, which demonstrates the great passion Hispanics have for everyday things such as sports and, of course, now the everyday value they can find with their favorite McDonald’s food,” said Max Gallegos, director of marketing, McDonald’s USA. “This is not another promotion, it’s our way to demonstrate our commitment to deliver to our customers the food they crave at a great value.”

“I am excited about participating in this campaign, because it is something I believe in,” said Sofia Vergara. “The value for such great taste cannot be beaten and I am extremely happy that McDonald’s chose me to share this great offer with their customers.”

The commercial is the latest in a series to feature celebrities conveying the campaign’s message of value and taste. The TV ad was created by del Rivero Messianu DDB advertising of Coral Gables, Fl.

“Now our customers can enjoy the Big N’ Tasty sandwich — a juicy quarterpound hamburger with lettuce and tomato for just $1 — giving them an opportunity to enjoy a mouthwatering experience at McDonald’s for a great everyday price,” added Gallegos.

Sofia Vergara is one the most beloved Spanish-language TV personalities since her stint as co-host of the popular show “Fuera de Serie.” Sofia is now devoting her energies to acting, appearing in such Hollywood films as Touchstone Pictures’ “Big Trouble” and her much-anticipated starring role in “Papi Chulo” to be released by 20th Century Fox in 2003.

The spot airing on English and Spanish-language television, centers around Hispanic actress Sofia Vergara and her craving for a dollar-priced Big N’ Tasty sandwich. The spot opens as Sofia takes a break on the set of a movie. During the break, Sofia is getting her make-up re-touched while catching a glimpse of a city bus passing by and immediately gets her attention.

Inside of the bus, sits an average looking guy who mistakenly thinks Sofia is trying to make eye contact with him. Very excited, the guy starts flirting with her. The camera reveals that Sofia’s mouthwatering expressions and excitement were because of the billboard on the side of the bus featuring the $1 Big N’ Tasty sandwich.

In the English version of the Spanish-language spot, the viewer sees that the commercial maintains its Hispanic flavor by reading the billboard’s message of “Ponle Sabor a tu Dolar,” or “Add Taste to your Dollar.” The spot closes with the guy getting out of the bus and going to the set where he hands Sofia a napkin for her autograph. Instead, Sofia graciously thanks him and uses the napkin to wipe her mouth after having taken a bite out of the Big N’ Tasty that her production assistant brought after her cravings with the billboard. He is left dumb-founded next to her with the pen in his hand with no autograph.
