el diario / La Prensa, announced the promotion of Ingrid Jimenez to Local Advertising Manager, overseeing all local and classified advertising. Over the last year Ms. Jimenez held the position of National Accounts Manager at el diario, and was responsible for overseeing national accounts, specifically in the Financial Category.

“This newspaper institution is taking new directions and coming up with fresh ideas,” said Roger Gonzalez, General Manager of Sales & Marketing. “Ingrid fits perfectly with this new vision. She is a dynamic and energetic visionary who is not afraid of new challenges. She comes to el diario with a strong all-around grasp of the market and most importantly a solid sales background. Her people skills and special attention to details will add greater depth to an already strong division. Ingrid Jimenez is exactly what we needed in this department.”

Ms. Jimenez advertising career started at The Wall Street Journal in 1992, where she began as an Advertising Assistant, worked her way up to Inside Sales Representative, and climbed that corporate ladder once more to become an Outside Sales Representative. During her 8 years at The Wall Street Journal she experienced the ins and outs of the print advertising industry, and successfully met and exceeded her own professional expectations. “I had set goals for myself and achieved all of them,” said Ms. Jimenez when asked about her success at the The Wall Street Journal. In May 2000 Ms. Jimenez joined el diario’s sales and marketing department as a National Accounts Manager, and just today achieved one of her goals of becoming the Local Advertising Manager, in charge of the retail, classified, and customer service departments, overseeing approximately 30 employees, including sales and support personnel.

“I am very excited about this new challenge, and delighted to know that I have the support of the General Manager of Sales and Marketing, and of a great team of colleagues that have welcomed me with open arms,” said Ms. Jimenez. “Together, with our combined experiences and commitment we will achieve, and possibly surpass the goals that we have set for our department. I am thrilled with this opportunity. The best thing is that it is happening right here at el diario, a place that I already consider my home.”
