The 2nd Annual Crowning Achievement — A Celebration of Stars Who Care will honor luminaries Andy Garcia, Hector Elizondo, Laura Elena Harring and Elizabeth Pena for being exemplary role models and leading contributors to the progress of the Hispanic community. All proceeds are going to East L.A. Classic Theatre, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing literacy education through the performing arts and culturally relevant theatre to disadvantaged minority communities.

The evening line-up begins at 5 p.m. with a silent and live auction. And the award ceremony starts at 7 p.m. followed by a super Latin jazz jam featuring Cachao, Ruben Blades, and many other surprise celebrity musicians.

In the world of fundraising, Crown Royal hopes to continue to set a new standard for making sure guests experience royal treatment at its fundraising bash on Sunday, June 2, 2002. Over 800 invited guests including entertainment executives, producers, celebrities from the world of TV and Film, are expected to arrive at The Century Club in Century City.

“As we planned this event, we had two objectives: to applaud philanthropists for their generous contributions and to make sure our guests experience a unique cocktail reception with legendary entertainment in a festive atmosphere” stated Julious Grant, Seagram Americas’ Marketing Manager for the Southern Region.

Crown Royal salutes Andy Garcia, Hector Elizondo, Elizabeth Pena and Laura Elena Harring not only for their triumphs in Hollywood, but for their daily efforts to raise funds, loan their names and provide clout to worthy causes close to their heart. Mr. Grant continued to state, “For this reason, we will honor these stars for championing causes for the US Latino community and culture.” Crown Royal will award “The Crown” award designed by renowned artist, Frank Romero. Comedian Paul Rodriguez and Tony Plana, star of Showtime’s Resurrection Blvd., will serve as Masters of Ceremonies at this event.
