Sears Concert Stage To Groove New York’s 116th Street Festival.

Sears, Roebuck and Co. is offering fans a chance to meet some of Latin music’s most explosive talent at its concert stage during its 116th Street Festival “Meet a Star with Sears” promotion running from May 18, 2002 to June 7, 2002.

Jerry Rivera, Kevin Ceballo and Luis Fonsi will perform at the 116th Street Festival Sears Concert Stage on June 8, 2002, where eight lucky grand prize-winners will receive transportation to and from the event, a chance to meet and take photos with the artists backstage and receive autographs and CDs from Rivera and Ceballo.

“Participation in the festival has become as much a tradition for Sears as it has for New Yorkers,” said Gilbert Davila, vice president of multi-cultural management and partnership marketing. “Sears is proud to sponsor events that recognize the heritage of all Hispanics.”

“Meet a Star with Sears” Sweepstakes

The Sears Fiesta Mobile will visit eight New York-area stores to give consumers a chance to enter the sweepstakes drawings. Now in its seventh year, the Sears Fiesta Mobile is a customized motor home with multimedia capabilities, offering interactive games, prizes and musical events at Hispanic events across the country. A grand prize winner will be drawn at each Fiesta Mobile visit along with four first-prize winners who will receive an autographed photo and CDs form the artists.

Puerto Rican Day Parade

On the heels of his exhilarating 116th Street Festival performance, Kevin Ceballo also will be performing on the Sears float at the Puerto Rican Day Parade on Sunday, June 9, 2002. The Puerto Rican Day Parade has been a tradition in New York City since 1958, featuring floats, singing, dancing and marching. The Puerto Rican Day Parade draws millions of spectators to the celebration held yearly on the second Sunday in June.
