Castello Named VP @ Hispanic Radio of MediaAmerica, Inc.

MediaAmerica, Inc., the New York based multi-media advertising sales representative firm, has named Michael A. Castello to Vice President, Hispanic Radio.

Castello will continue as the senior executive overseeing MediaAmerica’s Hispanic Radio Division, whose Network Radio properties include services such as CNNRadio Noticias, Z-Spanish Radio Networks, BDSRadio.com Latino, Primer Plato del Dia, TA&A Impacto Latino, CNN A La Carta, and others.

“Michael has done a wonderful job since coming in and starting up the Hispanic Radio Division from scratch,” said Gary Schonfeld, CEO of MediaAmerica, Inc. “The Hispanic Division has begun to realize some great momentum, and Michael and his team are poised to take this entire area to a new plateau. This is a highly deserved promotion.”

Castello joined MediaAmerica in 1998 as Director of Hispanic Radio Services. Castello has enjoyed an impressive career in broadcasting, including serving as Managing Director for United Stations Talk Radio Networks, General Sales Manager of WNJR-AM, consulting with Virtual Networks (Washington, DC) and SBS (“Suave” WPAT-FM), and President of Daynet Talk Radio Network, a radio network he founded in 1990 that was represented by MediaAmerica, Inc.

“I am delighted to accept this promotion,” said Castello. It is an acknowledgement of the fine work that has been done by all of the members of our team — those in Affiliate Sales, Advertising Sales, and Program Development. It is particularly pleasing for me, as a person whose grandparents came from Puerto Rico many years ago, to see the growth of Hispanic Radio, and to be in a position to contribute to that growth. Adelante.”
