Telemundo 52- KVEA launches 2011 Hispanic Business Salute.

Telemundo 52- KVEA and 10 Southern California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce today announced the launch of the 2011 Hispanic Business Salute, an event that will recognize notable Hispanic-owned businesses and entrepreneurs in the five Southern California counties. During the event, Telemundo 52, will also award five scholarships to promising future entrepreneurs in a partnership with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund.

The inaugural keynote address will be delivered by Monica Lozano, CEO and Publisher of La Opinion, while Telemundo 52’s Jose Ronstadt will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Telemundo 52, along with its Hispanic Chambers of Commerce partners, has selected eight business leaders in recognition of their spirit, passion and success. The 2011 Hispanic Business Salute honorees are:

Carlos Galvan – La Amapola, Inc. – Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
Thelma Garcia – Taco Nazo, Inc. – National Latina Business Women Association of Los Angeles and the Latino Business Chamber of Greater Los Angeles
Ricardo Tejada – VNesto Capital, Inc. – Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
Ismael Ramirez – RAMCAST, Inc. – Latin Business Association
Patricia Perez – VPE Public Relations – Latin Business Association
Frank Montes – Inland Body and Paint Center – Greater Corona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
Jose Robles – Landscape Warehouse – Latino Business Chamber of Greater Los Angeles
Ramon Alvarez – Alvarez Lincoln Mercury – Greater Riverside Hispanic Chamber of Commerce

In selecting the honorees both national and local chapters of the Hispanic Chambers of Commerce serve as resources and guides during the selection process. The final decision was made by the local participating chambers, which includes the Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Antelope Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce,Greater Riverside Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Los Angeles Metropolitan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, High Desert Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Greater Corona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, National Latina Business Women’sAssociation, Greater Huntington Park Chamber of Commerce, Latin Business Association, and Latino Business Chamber of Greater Los Angeles.

Additionally, Telemundo 52 has partnered with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund to grant five scholarships to outstanding Latino students who are pursuing a college business degree, in an effort to encourage and motivate future Latino entrepreneurs. The Hispanic Scholarship Fund is the nation’s leading Hispanic higher education fund and works to address the barriers that keep many Latinos from earning a college degree.

The launch of the Hispanic Business Salute is part of Telemundo 52’s commitment to the Hispanic community in Southern California by contributing to its progress through entrepreneurship and education.
