Ruiz named VP Station Manager at Univision Bakersfield.

Univision Communications Inc. announced the appointment of Leonardo “Leo” Ruíz as station manager for Univision Bakersfield, overseeing overall daily management of sales, operations, promotions and community relations. Ruíz will be based out of Bakersfield and report directly to Alberto Mier y Terán, senior vice president and general manager, Univision Los Angeles.
 
“Leo has been one of the most enthusiastic and team-oriented individuals I have worked with,” said Mier y Terán. “He will be a driving force in continuing to deliver on our commitment of informing, entertaining and empowering our community in Bakersfield.”
 
Ruíz was most recently the national account manager for Univision’s flagship station in Los Angeles KMEX 34 and KFTR 46. He began his career with Univision in 2007 as an account executive for Univision’s KSCA radio station before becoming local sales manager for Univision’s entire cluster of L.A. stations. In 2010, Ruíz became the retail direct manager for Univision Los Angeles managing local sales for local all TV, radio and online properties.
