Univision 41 In NYC Enjoys A Squeeze.

‘Abrazame Muy Fuerte’ scored a record high 3.9 Nielsen Station Index (NSI) rating and 5 share last night. It is not only the highest rating ever for a Univision 41 premiere in the 8 pm to 9 pm time period locally, but it is also the second highest rated novela premiere in the history of Univision 41, exceeded only by the March 30, 1998 bow of “Pueblo Chico, Inferno Grande” (Little Town, Big Fire), which scored 4.3/6.

In addition, the lead-out from “Abrazame Muy Fuerte,” “Mi Destino Eres Tu” (You Are My Destiny) scored an impressive 3.8/5 NSI from 9 pm to 10 pm for its premiere broadcast last night. It is the third highest novela premiere in the history of Univision 41.

And as if the astonishing performances of the premiere of “Abrazame Muy Fuerte” and “Mi Destino Eres Tu” were not enough for one story, Univision 41’s prime-time access (7 pm to 8 pm) novela, “Locura de Amor” (Mad Love), also scored its highest NSI rating/share ever last night with 4.3/7. That was also good enough to put Univision 41 in fifth place in the prime- time access hour and represents a 39 percent jump over the 3.1 NSI rating Univision 41 scored in prime-time access during the November 2000 sweep.

In the Nielsen Hispanic Station Index (NHSI) ratings, a measure of Hispanic TV viewing, “Locura de Amor” scored 26.1/40, “Abrazame Muy Fuerte” scored 23.9/32, and “Mi Destino Eres Tu” scored 21.0/28.

Each New York Nielsen Station Index rating point represents 69,356.1 TV households. Each New York Nielsen Hispanic Station Index rating point represents 10,590 Hispanic TV households.
