Azteca America to premiere La Mujer de Judas

Azteca America announced the premiere of La Mujer de Judas, a mystery telenovela starring Anette Michel, Víctor González, and Andrea Martí. La Mujer de Judas tells the story of Altagracia del Toro, who may or may not be connected to a series of murders committed by a mysterious woman dressed in white, terrorizing the entire town. La Mujer de Judas premieres Monday, March 9 at 10:00 am / 9:00 am C on Azteca America.
The story is set in motion on January 3, 1988 in the small town of Xico in the Mexican state of Veracruz. Guests to a wedding arrive at the church to discover a tragic scene: Father Sebastián has been murdered. Holding the body of the slain priest is Altagracia del Toro (Anette Michel) who is wearing a wedding gown covered in blood. Next to her lies a broken statue of St. Jude Thaddeus. Sentenced to serve 23 years in prison, Altagracia is then known as “la mujer de Judas” (Jude’s wife).
Two decades later, Natalia (Andrea Martí), a woman with a keen interest in Mexican legends, hears the story of la mujer de Judas and promptly sets off for Xico to investigate. She tries to uncover the truth behind an enigmatic bride who wanders around the town at night.
Meanwhile, Altagracia has been released from prison and returns to Xico, determined to get back everything that belongs to her. But things do not go easily for her. The townspeople turn their backs on her, calling her la mujer de Judas. As if that were not enough, Altagracia discovers that her house and the Del Toro brewery now belong to Salomón Salvatierra (Víctor González), the son of her father’s business partner, and he is not willing to let Altagracia take from him something he worked so hard to build.
Natalia’s arrival and Altagracia’s release coincide not only with the return of six friends who share a big secret regarding a jewel and the image of St. Jude, but also with a series of murders in the small town.
Natalia and Salomón will investigate the chilling events relentlessly as they try to discover the identity of la mujer de Judas and uncover the face beneath the wedding veil.
After Contrato de Amor draws to a close, producer María del Carmen Marcos presents a dark tale starring Anette Michel, Víctor González, and Andrea Martí with Geraldine Bazán and Daniel Elbittar playing villains. Special guests include Martha Mariana Castro, Martha Verduzco, and Niurka Marcos.
