Viera joins Univision 41.

Univision Communications Inc. announced that Jorge Viera, “Noticiero Univision” (Univision News) correspondent, will join WXTV Univision 41’s primetime newscasts as a reporter effective Monday, September 2, 2013. Beginning Monday, September 16, 2013, he will co-anchor the 11 p.m. newscast alongside EMMY award-winning Adriana Vargas. Veteran news anchor Rafael Pineda will continue to co-anchor the 6 p.m. newscast and work on special assignments. 
 
Viera joins WXTV with more than 15 years of experience in journalism.  His career in broadcast television began in 1997 as a correspondent for Telemundo in Los Angeles. Viera has worked as a news correspondent for some of the most well-known Univision Network News programs such as “Aquí y Ahora” (Here and Now), “Noticiero Univision” (Univision News) and “Primer Impacto” (First Impact).  He has also been frequent contributor on “Al Punto” (To The Point) with veteran journalist Jorge Ramos.
