Don Francisco honored by The World Boxing Council.

Univision Network announced that its live broadcast of “Sabado Gigante” (Giant Saturday) will feature a presentation by The World Boxing Council to Don Francisco, who will be named honorary “World Boxing Champion” in recognition of his work though 50 years hosting Univision’s longest-running program and variety TV show in the world. The World Boxing Council, also celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2012, will hand over a belt and official certificate, signed by its President, Jose Suleiman, to Don Francisco  during the 8-11pm ET/PT broadcast.
 
Don Francisco, real name Mario Kreutzberger, joins Frank Sinatra, Nelson Mandela, Mario Moreno, as well as actors Sylvester Stallone and Denzel Washington, as non-boxers who have received similar recognition.
