Vme premieres The Kennedys.

The Emmy award-winning miniseries, Los Kennedy (The Kennedys) makes its exclusive Spanish-language premiere on Vme this month. With an all-star cast including Greg Kinnear, Katie Holmes, Barry Pepper and Tom Wilkinson, Los Kennedy airs on Vme Monday nights beginning January 30 at 10:00 p.m. (ET/PT).  Columbian actress Catherine Siachoque will be the Spanish-language voice of Jackie Kennedy. 

Los Kennedy explores the events that shaped the family, including the patriarchal drive and tactics of Joe Kennedy, John’s first run for Congress, the tragic death of Joe Jr., Robert’s loyalty to John’s political career and John’s marriage to Jacqueline Bouvier, ending with the tragic assassinations of John F. Kennedy in 1963 and Robert F. Kennedy in 1968.
 
The big-budget miniseries produced by Muse Entertainment (Human Trafficking, Pillars of the Earth) and written by “24” producers and writers, Steve Kronish and Joel Surnow, chronicles several generations of the infamous Kennedy dynasty from 1930s to 1968. This series not only covers pivotal moments of history, but it also spends time covering the behind the scenes relationships that made this family so powerful—presenting a side of the Kennedy family that viewers may not know about including fraternal rivalries, relationships with organized crime and indiscretions.  This intimate family story plays out against the backdrop of the great political events of the era—the Berlin Wall, the disastrous Bay of Pigs invasion and the Cuban Missile Crisis that nearly triggered World War III.  Through flashbacks to the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s, viewers will see the epic achievements, loves, betrayals and tragedies surrounding John, Robert and Joe Sr., and the women who unconditionally supported them. 
 
Although The Kennedys was met with heavy resistance before shooting began and early scripts were criticized by former colleagues of President John F. Kennedy as well as self-appointed guardians of his legacy, the ReelzChannel released the series in English to wide viewer acclaim winning four Emmy awards.  A production of Muse Entertainment in association with Asylum Entertainment, Los Kennedy was originally noted for its “highest quality” production and acting and has been nominated in 2012 for Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography in Movies of the Week/Mini-Series by the American Society of Cinematographers, the 2012 Producers Guild Award, and director Jon Cassar, has been nominated for the Directors Guild Award.
