Ramos and Bedout name new anchors on Noticiero Univision Fin de Samana.

Univision’s award-winning News division has appointed Lourdes Ramos and Felix De Bedout anchors of its weekend newscast, “Noticiero Univision Fin de Semana.” A veteran journalist, Ramos joins Univision to co-anchor the newscast on Saturdays and Sundays at 6:30 p.m. ET/PT with De Bedout. In addition, De Bedout will anchor “Noticiero Univision Fin de Semana” at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT.

Ramos joins Univision from Televisa México, where she has held various positions for over 20 years. She was part of the broadcaster’s elite news team since 1989 serving as anchor and news director for the daily mid-day newscast “A las Tr3s”; co-anchor of the leading national news program “Primero Noticias”; and anchor of “ECO,” Televisa’s 24-hour news service, in addition to reporting for special assignments.  
 
Among the special events Ramos has covered are the papal visits to Mexico, national and regional elections, presidential inaugurations — from Carlos Salinas de Gortari to Ernesto Zedillo, the Barcelona Olympic Games and the “Espacio” annual youth national symposium. She has conducted interviews with Mexican President Vicente Fox as well as the last interview with Mexican President Salinas before he left office. Ramos was also moderator of a key debate for Mexico City’s mayoral election and handled special reporting for “24 Horas,” “Mundo de Dinero,” “Contrapunto” and “Nuestro Mundo.” She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Universidad Iberoamericana.
 
De Bedout, currently a news co-anchor for Univision’s morning show “Despierta America” (Wake-up America), has a 25-year career that spans television and radio. He has conducted numerous high-profile interviews with leading figures of the public and private sectors, uncovering truths behind some of the most controversial socio-political happenings in Colombia. Among some of his accolades are the Premio Nacional de Periodismo Simón Bolívar for his superior work in investigative journalism for radio and “Best Television Interview” on his show “Félix de Noche,” in 2001. Before joining Univision, De Bedout served in several journalistic capacities for Colombia’s leading radio station La W Radio (Radio Caracol); Caracol TV’s show “El Radar” (The Radar); Colombia’s Noticias Uno’s newscast; and NTC Noticias and television shows, including “Félix Noche” (Felix Night) and “Reportaje al Misterio” (Mystery Report). He also presented an episode about the Colombian city of Medellín for the Latin American television series “Historia Secreta” (Secret Story) on the History channel. A native of Medellín, De Bedout holds a communications and journalism degree from Pontificia Universidad Bolivariana.
