Univision expands Sports Sales Team.

Univision Communications Inc. announced that Jason E. Newman has joined the Company as vice president of Sports Sales and Rick Resnick has joined as vice president of Sports Marketing. In these new roles, Newman and Resnick will serve clients with innovative advertising and marketing solutions within Univision’s portfolio of sports properties across all platforms. Based in New York, both will report to Carlos Deschapelles, senior vice president of Univision Sports Sales.
 
“I am delighted to bring two highly motivated and creative sales and marketing executives like Jason and Rick to the Univision team,” said Deschapelles. “They will both prove essential in delivering the Univision Sports brand to help our clients deliver growth with Hispanic fans.”
 
Before joining Univision, Newman spent over eight years at ESPN, most recently as senior director of Sports Management where he led a team of executives in developing multiplatform sales strategies and media packages for select sports properties, including FIFA, MLS, NFL, MLB, PGA Tour, boxing and others. Prior, he was the area sales director at Person Digital Learning and brand manager for CNNSI.com at Turner Broadcasting. He started his career in the Sales department at ESPN.
 
Resinick most recently served as vice president of Marketing at Time Inc. where he oversaw teams that supported advertising sales for Fortune, Money and Time, and developed custom multimedia programs for clients. Throughout his seventeen years at Time Inc., he held various positions in sales development, brand marketing and creative services with Money, Mutual Funds Magazine and Sports Illustrated. Before that, Resinick was a sportswriter for North Jersey Herald-News and The Daily Pennsylvanian. He is the founding editor of the publication Blueshirt Bulletin.
