Univision TV Stations win 51 Emmy Awards.

Univision Communications Inc. announced that Univision Television stations have won 51 local Emmy awards collectively around the country this year. The Univision Television Group owns and operates 19 full-power and seven low-power stations that provide the core distribution of the Univision Network in key U.S. markets.
“The work put forth by our news teams in our stations around the country speaks to the commitment Univision has with informing and empowering Hispanics at the local level,” said Sandra Thomas, senior director, Local and Affiliate News for Univision News. “Our stations’ dedication and passion to deliver the news and information that affects their communities is critical to our mission, and we are honored to have these efforts recognized by the industry.”
At the Lone Star Chapter Emmy Gala, Univision Television stations – KUVN Univision 23 Dallas, KWEX Univision 41 San Antonio, and KXLN Univision 45 Houston – won 12 awards in total. WGBO Univision 66 Chicago won four awards at the Chicago/Midwest Emmy ceremony.
This past June at the Northern California Area Emmys, KUVS Univision 19 Sacramento was recognized with 16 awards; KFTV Univision 21 Fresno won three Emmys for Evening Newscast Medium Markets: Spanish; Investigative Report; and Sports: Regularly Scheduled Daily or Weekly Program. KDTV Univision 14 San Francisco took an Emmy for the Evening Newscast Large Markets: Spanish category. Furthermore, earlier this year, KTVW Univision 33 Phoenix garnered Emmys in nine categories. WXTV Univision 41 New York took four Emmy awards in the categories of Hard News: Series; Entertainment: News; Human Interest: Program Feature/Segment; and Business/Consumer: Program Feature/Segment. WUVP Univision 65 Philadelphia won an Emmy for Promotion: News and Program and PSA – Single Spot. While, KMEX Univision 34 Los Angeles received an Emmy in the Outstanding News Videographer category.
