Comcast brings Latin GRAMMY Experience via Xfinity.com
October 10, 2011
Comcast announced an exclusive collaboration with The Latin Recording Academy to offer a special live webcast and event coverage, from the red carpet, or rather “green carpet”, of the 12th Annual Latin GRAMMY® Awards on November 10 from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
The star-studded coverage will provide consumers unprecedented access to their favorite Latin artists including live streaming of celebrity interviews from Las Vegas. For the first time, consumers will be able to get even closer to the action in real-time by directing any of the six camera views strategically placed throughout the green carpet allowing them to view or follow their favorite artists live at the Latin GRAMMYs. Kicking-off at 3:30 p.m. EST on Thursday, Nov. 10, the exclusive free webcast will be available live to consumers on Xfinity.com/LatinGRAMMYs and will also be available for replay the day following the show through November 20th.
“Comcast is proud to build on our relationship with The Latin Recording Academy and to bring viewers the greatest possible views from the green carpet,” said Marcien Jenckes, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Video Services at Comcast. “We’re always in search of new ways to deliver the best content to the Hispanic community. This is one more example of the variety of programming options and new ways to personalize content our Hispanic customers have come to expect from us.”
Complementing the live webcast, Comcast will offer additional Latin GRAMMY content on Xfinity On Demand and on Xfinity.com/Latinotv for customers to enjoy across screens, including exclusive celebrity interviews and coverage from The Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year Tribute honoring Shakira, held on Nov. 9.
Xfinity TV’s Latin GRAMMY green carpet coverage will be hosted by Latin music lover Pico, host of mun2’s hit two-hour music countdown show “18 & Over Live.” As host of the only live bilingual countdown show in the nation, Pico tallies up the top 18 videos of the week as determined by sales charts and radio play. New episodes of “18 & Over Live” air Saturdays at 12:00 p.m. EST/PST on mun2.
