Sensis developing Spanish-Language Campaign for Medicare.
September 6, 2011
The Department of Health and Human Services’ Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services engaged Sensis to launch and maintain a public education and awareness initiative targeted at Spanish-speaking audiences.
The campaign will alert Spanish-speaking Medicare beneficiaries and their caregivers about changes to the Medicare Open Enrollment period and health and prescription drug coverage benefits in 2012. Sensis will increase general awareness of services among Spanish-dominant individuals who are eligible for Medicare, those eligible for the Low Income Subsidy (“Extra Help”) program and those who influence them.
“The health care overhaul brought sweeping changes to who is covered and how they receive services,” Sensis President José Villa said. “Our job is to ensure those changes are communicated to the vast Spanish-speaking audience that depends on these services.”
Sensis will develop a strategic communications plan including public relations, partnerships, grassroots, earned media and local implementation. There will be media relations, development of creative material, and the purchase and placement of advertising.
