Ricardo de Montreuil promoted to VP Creative Director at mun2.

mun2 announced that Ricardo de Montreuil has been promoted to vice president, creative director for mun2. He will report to Diana Mogollon, general manager, mun2.

In his new role, de Montreuil will continue to direct the cable network’s award-winning creative department, overseeing the creation of mun2’s on-air and off-air promotional spots, image campaigns and mentions for mun2 originals including “I Love Jenni,” “RPM Miami,” and “From Beyond,” as well as mun2 music programs including “mun2 Presents.”

“Ricardo is a visionary executive and director who continues to create authentic, engaging and stimulating visuals for the Young Latino American audience that mun2 serves,” said Mogollon. “His award winning work has set a creative bar for not only mun2 but also cable television overall. He owns a vital role in the visual definition of the channel and our audience, and his results drive and lead the imagery surrounding our growth. He is a creative, artistic and compelling director and well-respected executive who will continue to lead and grow our brand; this promotion is very well deserved.”

De Montreuil was featured in Advertising Age’s “40 Under 40” list in 2006 and has won numerous Promax and BDA Awards. In 2011, the mun2 on-air promo team won two Promax awards – a gold and bronze – in the Adult Programming Spot category for its four spot campaign showcasing the weekly music, dance competition show, “Descontrol,” and a bronze award in Special Event Promotion category for mun2’s “New Year’s Eve” spot, which displays the holiday
midnight countdown with a unique, whimsical edge. The team has received 12 Promax and BDA Awards in the past three years under de Montreuil’s guidance.

Prior to joining mun2, de Montreuil served as senior art director at MTV Networks Latin America, overseeing the overall look and design of MTV channels throughout the region. He has also directed music videos and TV commercials, including spots for Coca-Cola, McDonald’s and MTV and has won several awards for his achievements in creative and art direction. He has directed three feature films, including “La Mujer de Mi Hermano” (My Brother’s Wife), based on a novel by Proven author Jaime Badly and acquired by Twentieth Century Fox. “La Mujer de Mi Hermano” was one of the most successful Spanish language films, enjoying the largest release and biggest opening weekend box-office for a Latin film in the US. “Mancora” was an official selection at the 2008 Sun dance Film Festival. His short film “The Raven” topped last year’s Hollywood Directors Black List, and is currently in development with Universal Pictures with Mark Wahlberg attached to star.
