Univision’s Protagonistas, el Reality annouces Judges.

The Univision Network announced today Beto Cuevas, Isabella Santo Domingo and Laura Zapata as judges on “Protagonistas, el Reality,” the competition series produced by Univision Studios and Imagina US which is set to debut October 12, 2011 at 10pm ET/PT. Hosted by famed Mexican actor and presenter Ernesto Laguardia, the search for television’s next rising star kicked off with open auditions held across the country and Puerto Rico, as well as via online submissions.
 
Best known as the former lead singer of the internationally-acclaimed Chilean rock band La Ley, Cuevas is also an actor, musician, producer and composer whose solo work has earned nominations for various awards, including Premio Lo Nuestro and Latin GRAMMY ®, among others. Santo Domingo is an award-winning actress, TV host and author who has enjoyed a successful career as a journalist in her native Colombia and the United States. Rounding out the show’s esteemed panel of judges is Zapata, widely regarded as one of Mexico’s most respected TV, theatre and film entertainers, and is also sister of international music superstar Thalia.
 
“I’m looking forward to this experience as much as the contestants,” said Beto Cuevas. “I’ve never had the chance to experience anything like this and believe everyone of us, including my fellow judges and participants, will all grow and benefit from this opportunity.”

I believe we are a well-balanced panel, we have Laura: the voice of experience, Beto: the singing experience and then you have me: the voice of sarcasm.”

“Protagonistas, el Reality” will look for the nation’s most talented men and women as they compete for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make their onscreen debut in one of Univision’s upcoming productions. Hopeful young contestants from across the country will compete in a number of challenges to make it to the top 20, from where only 12 contestants (six males and six female) who prove they can act, sing, dance and host will make the final cut and move into the “Protagonistas, el Reality” studio house in Miami.
