mun2 & Telemundo produce ALMA Awards.

mun2 and Telemundo announced they partnered to produce this year’s promotional spots for the 2011 National Council of La Raza (NCLR) ALMA Awards, which will be broadcast on Friday, September 16, 8-9pm ET on NBC, from Los Angeles. The spots, five in total, featuring show co-hosts Eva Longoria and George Lopez in a behind-the-scenes Hollywood stage setting, were created by the mun2 creative staff and directed by the network’s Creative Director and established filmmaker Ricardo De Montreuil. The spots were shot in Spanish and in English.

“Creating a unique look and vision that reflects the role of Latinos in Hollywood was our goal,” said De Montreuil. “We wanted to reflect the golden age of Hollywood showing the glamour, grace and strength of Hollywood stars. Eva and George represented this effortlessly and the wit and humor of the script shone through.”

In addition to the promotional spots, Telemundo News will feature highlights of the star-studded event and mun2 will produce a two-hour special as part of its weekly music variety show “18 & Over” from the ALMA Awards red carpet, spotlighting the fashion, star arrivals and showcasing some of the biggest music videos of the year. The “18 & Over” pre-awards show special will air Friday, September 16th from 6-8pm ET. mun2 will re-broadcast the awards show in its entirety on Saturday September 17 at 2pm ET/PT and on Sunday September 18 at 12pm ET/PT.

“Every year, during Hispanic Heritage month, the ALMA Awards honor the outstanding achievements and contributions of Latinos in the entertainment business,” added Jacqueline Hernandez, Chief Operating Officer, Telemundo. “Telemundo and mun2 greatly support and commend the year-long work that NCLR conducts on behalf of our community. Their efforts and mission echo those of our networks’ to inform, empower, inspire and entertain U.S. Hispanics.”
