Telemundo launched acting workshop for Fisico o Quimica novela.

Telemundo Studios kicked off “Taller de Actores Telemundo” (Telemundo Acting Workshop), a acting workshop designed to identify and train the young cast members of its upcoming original production “Fisico o Quimica.”

Over six hundred young actors and actresses showed up at Telemundo Studios on the first open cast call of which 120 were selected for the next round. On a second casting session, 43 actors and actresses from California, Florida, New York, New Jersey, Arizona, Puerto, Mexico, and Venezuela were selected to participate in the six-week intense program.

“Like most of Telemundo’s original novelas, ‘Fisico o Quimica’ is based and reflects the US Hispanic experience. Most of these young actors came to us with their dreams and we hope to make them come true,” said Aurelio Valcarcel, Executive Vice President Telemundo Studios. “With this workshop, we’re not only looking for qualified talent for this particular novela, but also for young talent we can cast in all our future productions,” added Roberto Stopello, Vice President Novela Development at Telemundo Studios.

“Taller de Actores Telemundo” will offer the young Hispanic talent six weeks of acting classes lead by a professional group of teachers and industry experts, including top talent such as Maria Celeste Arraras from Telemundo’s news magazine “Al Rojo Vivo,” among many others. The participants will benefit from an intensive workshop that will allow them to strengthen their acting skills and learn about other related areas such as scenery, wardrobe design, digital and social media and dealing with the media, among many others. A select handful of these young talents will be selected to join the official cast of “Fisico o Quimica” slated to air in Telemundo first quarter of next year.

“Fisico o Quimica” is a story about interpersonal dynamics between parents, students and teachers in an urban area high school and their stories of love, loss and conflict. This is a compelling drama based on a groundbreaking Spanish series, now adapted by Telemundo and crafted specifically for the U.S. Hispanic audience.
