Univision expands Distribution Sales & Marketing Team.

Univision Communications Inc. announced that Chris Fager has been named senior vice president of Distribution Sales for Univision Communications. Fager joins the Distribution Sales and Marketing team from TuTV networks, where he was president for the last five years. The TuTV networks were acquired by Univision last December and are now part of the company’s Pay TV portfolio. As SVP of Distribution National Sales covering all of Univision’s networks and stations, Fager will leverage his existing experience and relationships to manage Univision’s largest distribution partnerships. He will continue to be based in Los Angeles and will report to Tonia O’Connor, president of Distribution Sales and Marketing. The TuTv networks will now be managed by Jessica Rodriguez, senior vice president, Cable Networks.

Before joining TuTV, Fager served in International Development and Business and Legal Affairs capacities at E! Entertainment Television, where he helped create the Company’s overseas business, launched new channels and oversaw all legal considerations for the network during a period of significant growth. Earlier in his career, Fager helped found a boutique media law firm in Washington D.C., growing the practice over his tenure and serving a broad range of clients in transactions, litigation and matters before federal agencies and courts. He holds a bachelor’s of art degree from Colgate University and a juris doctorate from Boston University School of Law.
 
In addition, Univision today announced that Sarah Madigan has been appointed vice president of Business Affairs for Distribution Sales and Marketing. Madigan most recently served as vice president of Distribution Business and Legal Affairs for BBC Worldwide America, where she was responsible for all legal aspects of the Affiliate Sales business for the BBC America, BBC World News and CBeebies. Prior to BBC, Madigan was an associate in the Media and Entertainment practice group at the law firm of Greenberg Traurig, LLP, where Univision was one of her primary clients and she played a key role advising the Company during its 2009 retransmission consent negotiations. She also practiced law at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP and holds a bachelor’s of art degree from Trinity University and a juris doctorate from Boston College. In her new position at Univision, Madigan will be heavily involved in carriage negotiations and strategy for cable, satellite, telecommunications and online video and mobile distributors. She will be based in New York reporting to Dan Taitz, senior vice president of Business Affairs for Affiliate Relations.
