Atlanta Braves and La Mejor team up for Spanish Radio Broadcasts.

The Atlanta Braves have joined with La Mejor to broadcast 30 Braves games in Spanish on WLBA 1130 AM, WXEM 1460 AM and WAOS 1600 AM in 2011. The first game will air on Sunday, April 3 with the Braves at the Washington Nationals.

“The Braves are excited to offer our Spanish speaking fans a new place to follow us on radio,” said Derek Schiller, Atlanta Braves Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “We are proud to announce this new partnership with La Mejor that will give our fans a new home for Spanish radio broadcasts after a two year hiatus.”

The three stations will simulcast every Sunday home game plus three additional games (see schedule below) with the action called by Raul Saenz, who has worked on Spanish broadcasts for the Washington Redskins, Houston Astros and Dallas Mavericks. Most recently he worked at ESPN Deportes 1510 AM in Milwaukee where he did play-by-play for the Milwaukee Brewers, Milwaukee Bucks and Wisconsin Badgers football games.

“We are truly proud to partner with the Atlanta Braves, an organization that recognizes the importance of the Hispanic community in Atlanta,” said Sammy Zamarron, La Mejor Station Manager. “At La Mejor, we look forward to broadcasting in Spanish to the vast and growing Latino fan base of Los Bravos de Atlanta.”
