Reina por un Día on Azteca America.

As a tribute to Latin women who work hard every day to get ahead and whose stories are truly moving, Azteca America will soon launch a fun new family-friendly and inspirational program, Reina por un Día (“Queen for a Day”). Hosted by the charming and entertaining Raquel Bigorra, the show promises to bring together families to watch as the hardest-working and loveliest members of the family compete in amusing games and contests to win prizes and be queen for a day.

During a media presentation that took place yesterday on International Women’s Day, Director of Entertainment and Production at Azteca 13 and Vice President of Entertainment and Production at Azteca America Roberto Romagnoli announced that Ingrid Coronado will no longer host the show because she has been restricted to bed rest during her pregnancy.

“Reina por un Día is an important television project that will highlight positivity every afternoon. At Televisión Azteca, we are a big family and the most important thing is the well-being of those who work with us, which is why it was very difficult to not have Ingrid as our host.”

Joined by her life partner Fernando del Solar, Ingrid Coronado announced to the media attending the press conference that despite feeling sad about leaving this important project, she is happily awaiting the birth of her third child. She thanked all the executives who were understanding and supportive of her, “Yes, it has been confirmed: Fer and I will be parents once again and the doctor recommended I rest completely and avoid stress. I am happy for this great surprise and now I’ll go home where I can feel like a queen every day.”

The General Director of Azteca 13 and Azteca Novelas and the Executive Vice President of Programming, Production and Marketing for Azteca America Alberto Santini Lara stated, “As you know, since last year we at Azteca have been working to live to our commitment to bring families together. In these times of economic hardship, there is no better message than to bring together the whole family to watch this kind of safe and wholesome program that can be enjoyed not only by homemakers, but also by grandparents, children and dads.”

He added, “Undoubtedly, this program is a tribute to Latin women because all our contestants represent the contemporary Latin woman who struggles every day to get ahead and brings her family together. We are putting our heart into this so that our viewers will like it.”

For her part, Raquel Bigorra, who received advice from Ingrid Coronado, said, “I feel very happy, excited and nervous to be a part of this great project and grateful to have been considered for it. I know we’ll have fun because this is a family-friendly show that brings together families as it celebrates women.”

Produced by Luis Chávez, Reina por un Día is a new inspirational game show which will look at three different women each day and their stories of struggle. Each of them will face fun contests that will put their abilities to the test. The winner will see her dream come true and feel like a queen for a day – “Reina por un Día.”

Reina por un Día premieres in Mexico on Monday, March 14 at 4 pm and will soon be broadcast in the United States on Azteca America.
