2011 Copa Centroamericana on GolTV.

GolTV announced a new agreement with UNCAF, the Central American Football Union, to be the exclusive North American broadcaster of the 2011 Copa Centroamericana presented by +Movil. Formerly known as the UNCAF Nations Cup, this tournament is played every two years and in January 2011 will make its debut on GolTV live from Panama.

The Copa Centroamericana features match play involving each UNCAF national team, including Belize, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and El Salvador, and highlights premier international soccer stars.

“Reflecting the diversity of the American fútbol audience, GolTV offers viewers high-quality soccer from all corners of the globe, as each nation bears its own brand of play and draws a unique, passionate fan base,” said Rodrigo Lombello, COO of GolTV. “Our partnership with UNCAF will allow us to once again make good on the promise to deliver the passion and emotion of the best players from the top leagues and tournaments worldwide.”

“Every two years, the Copa Centroamericana ignites national pride and fútbol fan fervor across Central America, and this year we are proud to share the excitement with U.S. audiences thanks to GolTV, an American network that shares our passion for fútbol,” said Rafael Tinoco, President of UNCAF.

The Copa Centroamericana’s media and marketing rights are managed exclusively by CONCACAF Marketing & TV, which has worked with UNCAF to re-brand and expand the profile of the competition.

“CONCACAF Marketing & TV is thrilled to work with UNCAF to grow the Copa Centroamericana. GOL TV is an optimal partner to deliver the excitement of the competition to fans across North America,” said Italo Zanzi, Executive Vice President, CONCACAF Marketing & TV.
