¡Felicidades Rafael!

My friend and a veteran US Hispanic advertising, marketing and media executive Rafael Eli is celebrating a wonderful milestone.

Many of you might remember we covered Rafael’s search of the perfect kidney donor to be able to enjoy a gift of life.

Today we celebrate the one year anniversary of that gift that Rebecca Manchal offered Rafael.

Dear friends and family:

This coming Friday, November 12, will be exactly one year that I received the wonderful gift of a beautiful kidney from my donor Rebecca Mancha! I feel healthy, reinvigorated, full of life!

You, too, played a role – – – through all the positive thoughts, prayers and goodwill you sent my way. At this time of celebration, I want to acknowledge you and thank you for your support.

Rebecca and I met through matchingdonors.com, the only website of its kind in the U.S. that helps those in need of an organ to find a match. Last year, Rebecca saw a program on TV about matchingdonors.com and decided to visit the website. She read the posted profiles and when she read mine, she said to herself, “that’s the one”. She then called me (on July 4th) and 4 months later she donated one of her kidneys to me. This was a very generous gift and I greatly appreciate it every minute of every day!

This coming Friday I will celebrate Rebecca’s generosity and my new life! Kindly take a moment on Friday to do something generous for a stranger. Spread your good cheer, spread the love!
